Ever since the leaks started appearing online, and Supreme fans had their eyes and hearts locked on this drop. Dropping as part of the SS18 Week 4 is the Supreme X Undercover Public Enemy capsule.
The hip-hop group works with Rick Rubin, who was featured on a Supreme tee in Week 1. The group is revered for being politically conscious in their lyrics.
Their capsule includes so many items you just can’t make up your mind on which to cop. The Supreme X Undercover Public Enemy collection features tees, sweatshirts, hoodies, a really cool rug, and a lot more.
Among this pack’s items, are a pair of Dr. Martens with graphics from the poster of the studio album, Fear of a Black Planet. Although Fear of a Black Planet was one of the most popular albums, surprisingly, based on fans’ votes on Supreme Community, these shoes are earning the title of “Most Hated Item of the Week.”
In contrast, what fans love most are the tees and sweatshirts. As a matter of fact, votes show that the Supreme X UNDERCOVER Public Enemy White House Tee is the fan favorite.
Maybe that’s just because a lot of the Hypebeasts these days are too young to remember the group. But the beauty of Supreme drops like these is that it entices fans to read up on the past, getting that pop culture history lesson.
A lot of the apparel will include the same Fear of a Black Planet graphic. Its message remains relevant more than 2 decades since the album first released.
As stated on their website, a portion of the proceeds from this collaboration will be donated to the ACLU, the American Civil Liberties Union.
As always, the release will launch online on Thursday, March 15th in the US and Europe, and on Saturday, March 17th in Japan.
